Here’s the video for “Fix Me,” one of the three singles from Crush that The Doughboys released. I’m pretty sure the video tag it’s got is from when it aired on MuchMusic, aka the Canadian MTV. Which is fitting. I would have posted the video for “Shine,” the album’s biggest hit, if I could find it. As it is, youtube has multiple videos in which the song is used to soundtrack something else completely (Olympic torch-passing, a scene from the movie Willow) but no versions of the official video. This is the only official Doughboys video I could find anywhere, in fact, and it comes from Myspace. It’s got some pretty interesting stuff in it, though. John Kastner’s dreadlocks are truly formidable in the video, and I was duly impressed. I was also amused by the price tag hanging from the Fender Jaguar that Jonathan Cummins plays in the video; could it be that he wanted to use a better guitar than the one he actually owned, and had therefore purchased the Jaguar with the intent of returning it after the shoot was over? If so, that at least is a pretty fuckin’ punk thing to do.
